Day 1
Arrival into Sri Lanka. You’ll be met at the airport and driven to Sigiriya, passing paddy fields, coconut groves, colourful tuk-tuks and forested landscapes.
Day 2
Visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress, walking through the lion’s paws, exploring stone pathways, frescoes and ancient graffiti. This afternoon, cycle through the sacred city of Anuradhapura with a guide.
Day 3
Climb Pidurangala Rock before dawn, rewarded with sunrise views over Sigiriya and the surrounding forest. The afternoon is free to relax.
Day 4
Travel east to the coast, stopping to explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, with its palaces, Buddhist sculptures, irrigation systems and stupas.
Day 5
Enjoy time by the coast with opportunities for snorkelling or scuba diving on coral reefs, as well as kayaking and windsurfing.
Day 6
A day at leisure by the beach, with options to explore nearby villages by bike, relax, or enjoy the surroundings.
Day 7
Travel south to Gal Oya and head out on a boat safari across the lake, where you may see elephants swimming between islands along with other wildlife.
Day 8
Begin the day with a naturalist-guided cycling experience, followed by a jeep safari into Gal Oya National Park in search of wildlife.
Day 9
Journey into the hill country, passing Bambarakanda Falls and tea-covered landscapes.
Day 10
Take a tuk-tuk ride to Lipton’s Seat for panoramic views, then continue to Yala National Park for an afternoon safari with a ranger.
Day 11
Head out on another safari in Yala National Park, exploring its diverse landscapes and searching for wildlife including leopards and birdlife.
Day 12
Travel to Ahangama, known for its surf culture, beaches, cafes and laid-back atmosphere.
Day 13
Cycle along the Paddy Trail through rural Galle, passing paddy fields, cinnamon groves, villages and the Eluvila Bird Sanctuary. Afternoon at the beach.
Day 14
Enjoy a street food experience in Galle Fort, sampling local dishes while learning about the city’s culinary influences.
Day 15
You’ll be driven to the airport today with plenty of time to check in for your flight home.
