Day 1
You’ll be met at the airport by your private driver before heading northwest to Sigiriya. Paddy fields, coconut groves, and colourful tuk-tuks give way to lush forest and dramatic rock formations, giving you an immediate immersion in the Sri Lankan vibe.
Day 2
Walk between the giant, rock-carved lion’s paws into the 5th-century Sigiriya Rock Fortress to wander winding stone pathways, view vibrant frescoes, and marvel at the 1,000-year-old graffiti. This afternoon, you’re cycling off-the-beaten-track around the vast sacred remains of Anuradhapura with a Buddhist guide.
Day 3
A pre-dawn climb up Pidurangala Rock is rewarded by a picnic breakfast listening to the jungle slowly stirring beneath you. Watch the play of sunrise light on neighbouring Sigiriya and across the panoramic forest canopy. This afternoon, relax and recharge.

Day 4
Wild adventures await today within Kitulgala-Kelani Forest Reserve. You’ll kayak 6.5km along the River Kelani, from gentle, jungle-fringed beginnings to tackling challenging white-water rapids. Follow this with canyoning the river valley, hiking through jungle, jumping into crystalline pools, and sliding down natural waterslides.

Day 5
A journey partly by car and partly by rail along a section of arguably the most scenic train ride in the world. Pass emerald tea terraces, densely forested hills, and a series of tunnels linking mist-shrouded valleys of traditional villages.
Day 6
Leave your vertigo at home: today you’re hiking to World’s End, a chasm of 1,000m that punctuates the highland plateau of Horton Plains with early-morning, breathtaking views. If you’re up for a steep scramble, continue to witness the thunderous power of Baker’s Falls.

Day 7
You’re leaving hill country behind and descending through the central highlands to the eastern plains. Rolling tea estates, dense forest, and waterfalls give way to rice paddies, dry woods, and arid grasslands. Get your first view of Gal Oya with an afternoon climb up Monkey Mountain.

Day 8
As the sun sets today, you have a boat safari on Senanayaka Reservoir, tracking the notorious wild elephants that swim between islands here, using their trunks for snorkels. You’ll also see multitudes of crocodiles, water buffalo, monkeys, birds, and deer.

Day 9
Seven gigantic, rock-carved Buddhist figures will break up your drive between Gal Oya and Yala today, as you visit Buduruwagala. Towering up to 15.5 metres above you, the statues are an impressive sight, sculpted out of a sheer rock face.

Day 10
You have a safari drive this morning with a specialist ranger, exploring the forests, grasslands, and wetlands of Yala National Park. Keep an eye out for the park’s plethora of leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles, and elephants plus over 200 bird species as you meander through.

Day 11
Leaving the wilderness behind, you’re heading for the boho surf culture at Ahangama. A laid-back hotspot of hidden surf breaks, palm-lined beaches, yoga retreats, creative cafés, and artisanal boutiques. Time to dust off your surfing skills or wander the beach past traditional stilt fishermen.
Day 12
You’re spending the day exploring Galle Dutch Fort today with a local resident guide whose family have lived in the city for generations. Exploring by tuk-tuk, you’ll learn about the varied colonial influences, visiting heritage landmarks, artisan eateries, boutique shops, and vibrant markets.

Day 13
Your day starts serenely with a boat trip through rural Galle’s rubber and cinnamon plantations, looking out for exotic birds and reptiles. Then, hop on a bike and cycle through paddy fields and remote hamlets to a traditional mud hut where open-fire-toasted hoppers and herbal teas await.
