Day 1
You’ll be met on arrival by your private driver guide and set off through Sri Lanka’s heartland. The journey gives a fantastic initial glimpse of the island’s diverse landscapes, passing coconut groves, canals, rice paddies, and dense forest.
Day 2
Climb Pidurangala Rock at dawn for breathtaking views of Sigiriya bathed in sunrise light. Then explore the 5th-century fortress itself, with its lion-paw entrance, tiered gardens, winding stone paths, carved stairways, serene pools, and fresco-covered walls rich with ancient artistry.

Spend the day at Arugam Bay Beach, a golden stretch famed for world-class surf breaks and eclectic vibe. Dive into water activities with surfing at Main Point or Whiskey Point, where consistent waves suit beginners and pros alike. Non-surfers can snorkel in Pottuvil Lagoon to reveal colourful fish, or try paddleboarding and kayaking across turquoise waters.

Day 10
Morning surf at Main Point or Peanut Farm with beginner-friendly waves. In the afternoon, visit Muhudu Maha Viharaya, an ancient Buddhist temple by the sea, and optionally explore Kumana National Park for birdwatching. Evening at a beachfront café soaking in Arugam Bay’s bohemian atmosphere.
Day 11
Enjoy another morning of surfing at Whiskey Point, then explore Pottuvil Lagoon by kayak or visit Okanda Temple, a serene coastal shrine. In the evening, join a beach party or relax with live music at a local bar.
Day 12
Travel inland to Gal Oya National Park, where rolling tea estates, dense forest, and waterfalls give way to rice paddies, dry woods, and arid grasslands. Get your first view of Gal Oya with an afternoon climb up Monkey Mountain.
