Sri Lanka Adventure for Teenagers – 9 days

Go in search of herds of elephants, spotted deer, and toque monkeys in the Udawalawe National Park. Enjoy white water rafting on the Kelani River and visit the famous World’s End viewpoint on the Horton Plains during this adventure designed for the whole family.

Day 1 – Colombo
Welcome to Sri Lanka! On arrival in Colombo, you will be transferred to your starting location where the rest of today is free to relax or explore at leisure.

Day 2 – Colombo sightseeing & Kitulgala
Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Colombo, exploring the old Fort Area and the impressive Gangaramaya Temple. The tour ends with a stroll along Galle Face Green. This afternoon, travel to Kitulgala and enjoy a scenic family cycle ride through the countryside to Belilena Cave.

Day 3 – Rafting and Canyoning in Kitulgala
Prepare to get wet on a fun day out on the water. Go white water rafting on the Kelani River, navigating rapids for 5km. Later, embark on a canyoning adventure through the jungle, discovering majestic waterfalls and rock sliding before reaching a pristine lagoon for a swim.

Day 4 – Kinchigune Nature Trail
Set off on the Kinchigune Nature Trail, a 6km path that winds through forests and alongside the Belihuloya River. Walk past paddy fields and meet friendly locals in charming villages. Later, enjoy canoeing on the tranquil Samanalawewa Reservoir.

Day 5 – Horton Plains National Park
Explore the windy and wild Horton Plains National Park, 2,100m above sea level. Trek to the World’s End viewpoint for breathtaking views of the mountains and green jungle, then take a dip in Baker’s Falls while keeping an eye out for sambar deer, wild boars, and langur monkeys.

Day 6 – Udawalawe National Park
Travel to Udawalawe National Park. Embark on an SUV safari and look out for some of the hundreds of wild elephants that live in the park, as well as leopards, deer, crocodiles, sloth bears, and buffalo.

Day 7 – Udawalawe Game Drives
Spotting wild animals can be down to luck, so take another chance today to see Udawalawe’s iconic species. Return to the park this morning and again after dark, when leopards come out to hunt.

Day 8 – Colombo
Take one final trip into the park this morning and then say goodbye to Udawalawe as you return to Colombo for a relaxing afternoon at leisure. Revisit Galle Face Green for a family game of cricket or browse the local bazaar for souvenirs.

Day 9 – Colombo
The tour comes to an end today with an included departure transfer to the airport.
