Day 1 – Arrival in Colombo, Airport Pick-up
Welcome to Sri Lanka! Upon arrival at Colombo International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your private driver guide and transferred to the downtown area. The rest of the day is free for you at leisure.
Day 2 – Colombo: Visit Gangaramaya Temple, National Museum, Pettah Market & Galle Face Green
Start with a visit to Beira Lake and take a short walk to reach the Gangaramaya Temple, one of the most important Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka. Follow the guide to visit the Colombo National Museum, delve into the Pettah Market, and notice the nearby Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque. Later, visit Galle Face Green, Colombo’s largest open park.
Day 3 – Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage & Kandy
Drive to Kandy, stopping midway to visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, where elephants are guided to bathe in the nearby river. Upon arrival in Kandy, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, also known as Sri Dalada Maligawa. Next, you will be treated to a traditional Cultural Dance Show.
Day 4 – Royal Botanic Gardens, Dambulla Cave Temple & Sigiriya
Drive to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya for a morning visit. Proceed to the Sri Muthumariamman Temple, featuring its tall Gopura tower decorated with statues of deities. Drive to visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, walking up the stairs to see the five caves preserving ancient murals and exquisite statues.
Day 5 – Sigiriya Rock Fortress & Ancient City of Polonnaruwa
Visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of Sri Lanka’s oldest and most incredible architectural wonders with spectacular views from the top. Proceed to visit the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa, the second capital city of Sri Lanka, marveling at King Parakramabahu’s royal palace complex.
Day 6 – Ancient City of Anuradhapura & Negombo
Drive to visit the Ancient City of Anuradhapura, the first capital city of the island. Discover the magnificent Ruwanwelisaya Stupa and the Sri Maha Bodhi tree, the oldest bodhi tree in the world. Embark on a road trip to the coastal town of Negombo.
Day 7 – Negombo to Colombo, Airport See-off
